# Hugo + Webmonetization 2.0

Hello community,

Last November, I attended the SF DeFi Hackathon and worked on a project called [Hugo + Web Monetization](https://coil.com/p/sabinebertram/SF-DeFi-Hackathon-Hugo-Web-Monetization/mAownjGgI). TLDR: I hacked a [Hugo](https://gohugo.io/) theme to allow for web monetization and exclusive content.

I originally planned to get this feature included into the core Hugo stack but unfortunately, the Hugo community did not think that web monetization was a thing (yet), so they suggested that I write a Hugo theme component instead–which I did!

I would love for somebody to check it out, find bugs, suggest improvements or additional features.

I took a look at the theme you created. It’s a leap in the right direction. And inspiring to many.
